Storyboard & Fairytale Wedding Invitations

I've absolutely fallen in love with storyboard and fairytale invitations! It is a fantastic opportunity to give your guests an insight into how you met, how you romanced each other and how you came to be planning your big day.

By supplying the stationer with some details about your story and relationship they will create a unique, fun and quirky story line to entertain your guests and make your invitations look amazing.

I have found three companies that do such an amazing job that I myself have contacted them for quotes and I can't wait to hear back from them. I thought I'd be generous and share my fantastic findings with you.

Please meet Gorgeous Invites. These guys are based right here in the UK which is handy as most of these creative type companies are based on Etsy in the U S of A.

Next up is the very talented Be Mine Designs, also based in the UK.

And last but definitely not least is Anthologie Press who you can find on Etsy. Jen is located in the US but she happily ships to the UK. Her work is so brilliant that dealing with shipping costs would be worth it.

A Wedding Invitation How To..

Wedding invitations not only provide your guests with all of the important information for your wedding but they can also set the theme and style of the celebration, they will be your guests first impression of your special day. Whether it be contemporary, classic, modern, fun, cheeky, unique etc that is completely up to you to decide and there are many stationery companies out there who can provide any style you wish.

The steps involved in arranging wedding invitations include:

1. Finalise guest list 


2. Send save the dates (6 to 12 months before the wedding)


3. Figure out how many invitations and envelopes are required (5 to 6 months before the wedding)


4. Find your chosen wedding invitations/stationer/calligrapher (5 to 6 months before the wedding)


5. Order invitations and envelopes (5 - 6 months before the wedding)


6. Send all invitations (2 months before the wedding)


7. Keep track of RSVP's

Sending Save The Date cards is optional, couples may wish to do this if the wedding is quite a while away or if guests will have a far to travel. Some of these steps can be quite time consuming so you want to give yourself enough time to complete them.

When selecting your wedding invitations you might want to consider whether you would like to order other stationery in the same style and theme, such as; place cards, thank you cards, seating plan, order of service, menus etc. And if you are choosing to hand write anything either yourself or by a calligrapher then you might want to seriously consider ordering extra invitations to account for any mistakes that might be made, it is important to order extra envelopes as well.

Aside from selecting your stationer and the style and colours of your invitations it is also important to keep an  organised database of your guest list to keep track of RSVP's, the amazing gifts you might receive and if a 'thank you' card has been sent. Of course this type of organisation must be done in a timely and scheduled manner so as to assure your tasks are completed in good time and to avoid any unnecessary stressful situations.

Another 'New Age' option you might want to consider, which will also save you £££ on your invitations is to create a website for your wedding. This way you can send a simple wedding invitation and include your wedding website on it so your guests may log on to access all your wedding details on the World Wide Web.. Handy!! You can use the free website builder Wix or a blogger site such as Blogger would also do the job. Here is a cute example of a wedding website via Wix.
